Crumb Catcher is a truly unforgettable, quirky and horrifying experience. The acting is spot on, with the performance of John Speredakos standing out as chilling and creepy in the most perfect way. Chris Skotchdopole wrote and directed a film that I am sure will go down in history and become a cult classic.

“Blood Shine,” a folk horror feature from Emily Bennett and Justin Brooks, will be released later this year, with Aaron B. Koontz handling sales on the film via Paper Street Pictures.
The film takes place in upstate New York and follows Clara, played by Bennett (“Shelby Oaks”), described as a “religious zealot who worships light in lonely, sacred rituals.” David Call (“Insidious: The Red Door”) plays Brighton West, a horror filmmaker who tries to work on his script upstate when “a chance encounter with Clara leads him into an hallucinatory web of faith, flesh, and the sublime,” according to the logline.
Cast members also include Brendan Sexton III (“Russian Doll”), Larry Fessenden (“MaXXXine”) and Toby Poser (“Hellbender”).
Bennett and Brooks, a husband-and-wife creative duo, both wrote and directed the film, their sophomore effort. Their debut feature was “Alone With You” (2021), which featured Bennett alongside actors Barbara Crampton, Emma Myles and Dora Madison. That film was produced by Andrew Corkin and Theo James and won a FANGORIA Chainsaw Award in 2023.
Bennett has also directed the short films “Smile for Me,” “Bed” and “Accidental Stars.” Brooks has directed shorts like “A Better Day” and “Pains” and also worked as a cinematographer on shows like “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.”
Brooks was the DP for “Blood Shine,” while Brian Spears (“Smile 2,” “American Horror Story”) provided gore effects. Producers include Alexander Schepsman, Garrett Fennelly, Zeus Kontoyannis via Zeus Pictures and Koontz via Paper Street Pictures. Ashleigh Snead and Cameron Burns are co-producers via Paper Street. Executive producers are Michael McFadden, G. Riley Mills and Matt Sullivan.

“DEPRAVED” STAR’S FEATURE DIRECTING DEBUT “THE RECKONING”
By MICHAEL GINGOLD
THE RECKONING is the first feature film directed by Alex Breaux, whose many acting credits include the Frankensteinian creation Adam in Larry Fessenden’s DEPRAVED (a part he’ll soon reprise in Fessenden’s “monsterverse” film). It was written by Michael Weaver, who also stars alongside Kristin Griffith, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Julie Dray, Paul Bandey and Lemmy Constantine. The synopsis: “After their father’s death, long-kept secrets and a peculiar link to France lead two estranged brothers and their disabled mother to an unimaginable outcome. Inspired by Guy de Maupassant’s PIERRE ET JEAN (1888), THE RECKONING is a visceral drama cloaked in a knife-edge psychological thriller. An inversion of the prodigal-son parable, the film’s disturbing intensity is unrelenting, the focus constantly shifting, layering, unraveling like its main character. Fast descending to a mayhem where objective truth is indiscernible, and full immersion to an open eyed nightmare involuntary.”
Currently on its festival tour, the movie has already racked up a number of awards. THE RECKONING has already won Best Drama Film and Best Supporting Actress at the IFS Film Festival, Best Feature Film and Best Cinematography at the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest and Best Cinematography and Best Editing at the Horrorhound Film Festival. It next plays the Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival this Sunday, June 22 at 11:30 a.m., and will also screen at the Richmond International FIlm Festival, which takes place September 23-28.
Peter Grey, an overly zealous television chef, kidnaps J.T. Franks, an influential and notoriously snarky food blogger after a particularly nasty review deals the final blow to Grey’s already plummeting career. Sequestered deep in the woods of the Hudson Valley, Grey keeps Franks chained up in a basement, presenting him with a series of deceptively simple food challenges – from preparing a perfect egg over easy, to grilling a steak precisely medium rare – punishing him sadistically for anything less than total perfection. A tense thrill-ride served up with wicked wit and culinary flare, BITTER FEAST is an exploration of the creative impulse gone tragically and ferociously awry.
“Zesty fun for its actors… a sly parody… a creepy little chamber-piece… wonderfully wicked…” – LA WEEKLY
“A MUST SEE … Razor sharp acerbic wit… perfectly crafted… meticulous… explosive” – Culver City Observer
“Fantastic sequences sprinkled with intensity… enthralling and definitely engaging… an enjoyable snack.” – Bloody Disgusting
