HELLNOTES: “If you’re a fan of zombies in any way, shape, or form, you need to watch this movie”

BIRTH OF THE LIVING DEAD is coming this October! Check out the review from Brian M. Sammons at Hellnotes.com:

“Playing the film festival circuit right now is a new documentary about what is arguably the single most influential movie (not horror movie, but overall movie) in the last 50 years or so, Night of the Living Dead. What, you think I’m overstating things a bit? Name another movie from that period that spawned its own subgenre, and if you can   Continue Reading »

EW on ‘You’re Next’: How a group of indie filmmakers produced one of 2013’s most terrifying movies

From Clark Collis at Insidemovies.EW.com:
“…You’re Next is easily Wingard’s most commercial film to date, and the first to receive a wide theatrical release. However, this tale of a family reunion which is brutally interrupted by mask-wearing psychos is still far from being your (next) average horror movie. The movie’s stars include “real” actors Sharni Vinson (Step Up 3D), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator), and Amy Seimetz (Upstream Color, AMC’s The Killing) but also an array of indie directors including Joe Swanberg (Hannah   Continue Reading »
