Fessenden, Barbara Crampton, Andrew Sensenig, Lisa Marie to Star in WE ARE STILL HERE

Production has started on GEP pal Ted Geoghegan’s haunted house film, WE ARE STILL HERE.

From Deadline.com:

“Production is underway in Western NY on ’70s-set ghost story We Are Still Here from MPI/Dark Sky Films and Snowfort Pictures. The pic marks the directorial debut of Don’t Wake The Dead screenwriter Ted Geoghegan, with Travis Stevens producing and Greg Newman serving as executive producer. We Are Still Here follows Paul (Andrew Sensenig) and Anne (Barbara Crampton) who move to the quiet New England countryside to try to start a new life after their teenage son is killed in a car crash. But the grieving couple becomes the prey of a family of vengeful spirits that reside in their new home, and before long they discover that the seemingly peaceful town they’ve moved into is hiding a dark, terrifying dark secret. Lisa Marie (Sleepy Hollow, Planet Of The Apes) and Larry Fessenden (Wendigo, Stake Land) also star. MPI will be talking it up to potential buyers at EFM. Dark Sky Films’ other original productions include the upcoming Late Phases, Frankenstein’s Army, Here Comes The Devil, The Innkeepers, Stake Land and Hatchet II & III. Snowfort Pictures has produced such films as horror pic Cheap Thrills, Directors’ Fortnight documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune, and the upcoming Starry Eyes and American Muscle.”

LATE PHASES to Premiere at SXSW

Adrian Garcia Bogliano’s LATE PHASES, from MPI’s Dark Sky Films and Zak Zeman’s Site B Productions, with Fessenden and Brent Kunkle producing for Glass Eye Pix, has been selected for the Midnighters section of SXSW 2014! Get all the details on the film’s World Premiere at SXSW.com.

Synopsis:

Crescent Bay is not the ideal place to spend one’s golden years, especially since the once-idyllic retirement community has been beset by a series of deadly animal attacks from the ominous forest surrounding it. When grizzled war veteran Ambrose McKinley (Nick Damici) is forced into moving there by his yuppie son Will (Ethan Embry), the residents immediately take offense to Ambrose’s abrasive personality. But that take-no-prisoners attitude may be just what Ambrose needs to survive as it becomes clear that the attacks are being caused by creatures that are neither animal nor man, and that the tight-knit community of Crescent Bay is hiding something truly sinister in its midst…

Fessenden to receive the Winter Film Awards “Patron of the Cinema” Award!

Check out the press release below.

From the Press Release

As part of the 2014 Winter Film Awards Independent Film Festival awards presentation Ceremony taking place March 1st 2014 at The EMPIRE ROOM @230 FIFTH, the Winter Film Awards Board of Directors is pleased to honor New York cinema icon Larry Fessenden with the first annual PATRON OF THE CINEMA Award. The award is presented to an individual whose career transcends their work in the cinema by branching out into other artistic mediums, and who shares a passion for the cinema by mentoring up-and-coming filmmakers.

“And it doesn’t hurt if they’re a New Yorker,” smiled Board of Directors member Joseph Mauceri. “The bottom line is that this art form is a business and there are just too few people working in this industry who give back and transcend it by cultivating and inspiring young talent. In creating the Patron of the Cinema Award, I can think of no other person to be the first recipient  of this award then the man, the myth, the legend, and native New Yorker Larry Fessenden.”
