Shot with a crew of 3 on Beta I video, the old half inch format, and super 8mm film for flashbacks and a fifteen minute heist sequence, XMOVERS premiered at New York's club Danceteria where it was displayed on a huge projection system and dozens of monitors throughout the four-story club. It subsequently played on multi-screen installations in underground clubs and bars throughout the East Village.
This was before there was a visible independent film community, and before video was being used to make feature films, and the tape had music licensing problems. But it was distributed on a small scale, first at the now defunct Video Store, and more recently at Kim's Video and Two Boots video in New York, and Facets Video in Chicago. Soundtrack available on Earhorn Disks!
