John Mitchell Mind of an Artist documents the years-long collaboration between painter John Mitchell and filmmaker Larry Fessenden that resulted in Fessenden’s werewolf movie BLACKOUT. Mitchell describes themes and influences and the lifelong artistic journey that lead him to create over 100 paintings and drawings for the film: From Bernie Wrightson, Vincent Van Gogh, Martin Scorsese, Francis Bacon, Francisco Goya, Mitchell draws parallels and connections between seemingly disparate art forms and traditions in a portrait of the Mind of an Artist. This extended GEP MINIDOC celebrates just one of the myriad individual artists that converge for the making of a movie. Interviews and Camera by Rigo Garay; Producer and Edit by Larry Fessenden
