In 2004 we asked “What are you voting For?” at a time when George Bush’s government was using lies and intimidation to control the national conversation, falsifying arguments to goad us into a war in the Middle East that was not necessary and not paid for, dividing the nation into patriots and socialists. Sounds familiar? Very little has changed, but social media and news branding has coarsened the national conversation and entrenched both sides of the political divide into new levels of hysteria and dread.

Fear is on the ballot. Let’s keep it in theaters.
