Telekinesis horror film The Mind’s Eye
lands distribution

RLJ Entertainment has acquired the North American rights to writer-director Joe Begos’ much-anticipated horror film The Mind’s Eye, it was announced Tuesday. The film stars Graham Skipper — who appeared in Begos’ Must List-approved monster movie Almost Human — as a man with telekinetic abilties who attempts to rescue a similarly-gifted woman — played by Lauren Ashley Carter of the now-in-cinemas haunted house tale Darling — from the clutches of a demented scientist.

Indeed, the film boasts something of an indie-horror all-star cast, one which also includes Noah Segan (Some Kind of Hate), Matt Mercer (the Contracted films), Jeremy Gardner (The Battery), Brian Morvant (Darling, Pod), actor-editor Josh Ethier (Almost Human), actor-director Larry Fessenden (Feast), and John Speredakos (House of the Devil) as the aforementioned madman. 

The Mind’s Eye received its world premiere at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival and won Best Horror Feature at last year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. “Joe has an amazing eye and a clear love of old-school genre films,” said Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment’s Chief Acquisitions Officer, in a statement.  “His first feature had a cult following, and we are excited to share his new vision of horror with audiences.”

RLJ plans to release The Mind’s Eye in theaters and on VOD later this year.
