Ben Harper: For Birdthrower, sometimes a shovel is what’s required to find inspiration. He digs holes and gets down inside. Sometimes he hears music when he’s curled up inside the earth. He says that when he gets up out of a hole he’s often humming a tune that might one day become a song.
